The edible oils market ruled weak on Friday on slack physical demand amid bearish futures. Local refineries continued offering discount in absence of fresh bulk buying.
On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, groundnut oil rose by ₹20 for 10 kg in line with extended gain in Rajkot-Saurashtra market. Rapeseed and palmolein declined by ₹2 each.
Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹510-515, super palmolein ₹542 and soyabean refined oil ₹622. Ruchi traded palmolein for ₹508, soyabean refined oil ₹620 and sunflower refined oil ₹635. Allana was quoting palmolein at ₹515, super palmolein ₹545, soyabean refined oil ₹618 and sunflower oil ₹630.
In Saurashtra – Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia rose by ₹20 to ₹1,270 and loose (10 kg) increased by ₹10 to ₹810.
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 840 (820), soya refined oil 612 (612), sunflower exp. ref. 585 (585), sunflower ref. 630 (630), rapeseed ref. oil 720 (722), rapeseed expeller ref. 690 (692) cottonseed ref. oil 635 (635) and palmolein 508 (510).
