Urad and its dal prices weakened by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market on Saturday owing to slackness in demand.

Elsewhere, other commodities prices moved in a tight range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Traders said subdued demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to the decline in urad and its dal prices.

Meanwhile, the state-owned trading firm MMTC invited bids for the import of 37,000 tonnes of pulses for sale in the domestic market.

In the national capital, urad shed Rs 100 to Rs 3,950—4,350, while its dal chilka local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 4,850—5,250 and Rs 5,350—5,850, respectively. Dhoya lost Rs 200 to Rs 5,300—5,400 per quintal.
