Cardamom prices fell by Rs 10 to Rs 846.50 per kg at the futures trade today owing to slackness in demand at existing high levels.
Fresh arrivals at the spot market from the producing belts also put pressure on cardamom prices at the futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July fell by Rs 10 or 1.16 per cent to Rs 846.50 per kg with a business turnover of 389 lots.
Similarly, September contract shed Rs 8.90 or 0.99 per cent to Rs 885 per kg with a business turnover of 77 lots and August contract moved down by Rs 8.50 or 0.97 per cent to Rs 866 per kg with a business volume of 137 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing high levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market, mainly led to the fall in cardamom prices at the futures trade.
