Castorseed moved up on futures on the back of short covering by traders. Moreover, short supply and good demand from crushers pushed up spot price also. Traders said that demand in spot was strong and supply was tight which pulled up price in spot. Following this, future traders had stared covering that lifted castor contracts. On the NCDEX, June contract gained ₹10 to ₹3,928 a quintal with an open interest of 41,290 lots. On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange (RCX), castor September contract increased ₹7 to ₹4,262 while RCX spot castor moved up ₹12.50 to ₹3,887.50. About 58,000-60,000 bags arrived in Gujarat and price was up ₹5 to ₹775-785 for a maund of 20 kg. Around 2,000-2,100 bags arrived in Saurashtra and price was ₹750-760. Castor oil traded flat at ₹770/10 kg.
