Chana prices fell by Rs 18 to Rs 2,456 per quintal in the futures trade on Thursday, dragged down by supply pressure at spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July fell by Rs 18, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 2,456 per quintal, with an open interest of 38,060 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May lost Rs 15, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 2,320 per quintal, with a business volume of 1,59,200 lots.
Traders said adequate stocks position at the spot markets following rising arrivals from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan led to the fall in chana futures prices.
