Red chilli and turmeric prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal each in the national capital today due to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Fresh arrivals from the producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 6,600-12,100 and Rs 12,600-16,600 per quintal, respectively.
Market analysts said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against fresh arrivals from the producing belts mainly pulled down the chilli and turmeric prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are the quotations in Rs per quintal:
Ajwain 16,000-21,000, black pepper common 23,700-23,900, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,010-1,020 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,250.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 900-970, cardamom (colour robin) 940-950, cardamom bold 955-965, cardamom extra (bold) 1,150-1,160 and cloves (kg) 500-525.
