Sugar prices on the Vashi market shot up by ₹20 a quintal on back of higher physical demand amid jump in domestic and overseas futures. Firm mill tender rates and futures lifted naka prices by ₹20-40.
Mill prices were up by ₹10-20. Arrivals to the Vashi market were at 60-61 truck loads while local dispatches were at 59-60 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,172-3,262 (3,150-3,245) and M-grade ₹3,222-3,372 (3,202-3,362). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,170-3,230 (3,150-3,210) and M-grade ₹3,240-3,320 (3,200-3,290).
