Imported pepper is being deposited in the various warehouses of national exchanges as futures prices were falling sharply, according to trade sources. 32 tonnes of imported pepper were traded at ₹400 a kg outside the terminal market here, they said. Spot prices fell further by ₹400 a quintal to close at ₹44,900 (ungarbled) and ₹46,900(garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $7,575 a tonne for Europe and $7,825 a tonne for the US.
