Jasmine prices decreased at Erode markets due to heavy arrivals. “On Thursday, 20 tonnes of jasmine arrived for sale as the production of the flower in the district has increased. Because of such increase in arrival the buyers quoted decreased price at the Sathyamangalam Flower Cultivators Association market,” said SR Muthuswamy, President of the Sathyamangalam Flower Cultivators Association. During the last week, jasmine was sold at ₹150-160 a kg and has declined to ₹80 today. The market also received three tonnes of Arabian jasmine flower which fetched ₹65 a kg.
