Jeera prices fell by Rs 115 to Rs 15,982 a quintal in futures trading today on profit booking by speculators and a weak export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in April fell by Rs 115 or 0.71 per cent to Rs 15,982 a quintal, with an open interest of 17,493 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May declined by Rs 100 to Rs 16,342 a quintal, with a business volume of 11,217 lots. Market analysts said apart from profit booking by speculators, weak export demand kept pressure on futures prices.
