Tracking a weak trend in other base metals, lead prices fell by 0.33 per cent in futures trade today.
Winding up of positions by speculators in view of today’s monthly expiry also weighed down on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April traded lower by 40 paise or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 120.30 a kg with a business turnover of 177 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March shed 35 paise or 0.29 per cent to Rs 120.40 a kg, with a business volume of 534 lots.
Market analysts said apart from a weakening trend in other base metals, weak spot demand and squaring-up of positions by speculators also led to the fall in prices.
