Turmeric farmers worried over the declining trend of prices.

“The turmeric farmers are in disturbed mood, as the price of the spot turmeric is not improving and also the sale of turmeric is very meager. Such worries are due to the poor daily declining price of turmeric. The traders quoting decreased price, after verifying the sample as only medium and poor quality turmeric is arriving for sale for the past three days. This is due to the poor upcountry demand and also local demand for the turmeric”, said RKV Ravishankar a trader.

He said 2,000 bags arrived for sale. The traders and others are buying medium quality turmeric, ignoring the poor quality turmeric. The traders are waiting for upcountry demand which is expected in the first or second week of November.
