Traders at Erode received a few upcountry orders for coconut oil. “The price of the coconut oil remains in an upward trend for the past few days and is selling at a lesser price than in Kochi and Thrissur markets. The traders in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and some other North Indian States have placed a few orders at Kangeyam and Uthukuli markets. Coconut oil was sold at ₹1,375-1,400 for 15-kg loose pack,” said RM Palanisamy, an oil trader. He also added that the coconut oil went for ₹95/kg at Kerala against ₹93 in Kangeyam. Copra prices were stable at ₹6,200-6,300 a quintal.
