Mentha oil prices gained Rs 4.20 to Rs 944.90 a kg in futures trading on Thursday due to pick up in demand in the spot markets.
Tight supply in the markets following restricted arrivals from producing belt also fuelled the upside in mentha oil futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery June gained Rs 4.20 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 944.90 a kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in April moved up by Rs 3.50 or 0.33 per cent to Rs 1,057.70 a kg, with an open interest of two lots.
Market analysts said increased buying by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market amid less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
