Mentha oil futures prices moved up by Rs 6.70 to Rs 1,114 a kg today as speculators enlarged their positions, supported by rising demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for February delivery moved up by Rs 6.70 or Rs 1,114 a kg, with a business turnover of just two lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in March gained Rs 5.30 or 0.48 per cent to Rs 1,112.60 a kg, with a business volume of just two lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in prices to rising demand in the spot market, against restricted arrivals from producing regions.
Increased offtake by pharmaceutical units also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent, they said.
