Sugar prices at the Vashi market showed a mixed trend. Prices for the fine quality were sold at ₹5-10 a quintal higher and fair quality sold at ₹5 lower. The volume remained limited on producers’ selling. Morale was positive as traders were optimistic about increase in demand, said sources. Arrivals to the Vashi market were about 60-61 truck loads and local dispatches were at 58-60 loads.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates (in ₹): S-grade 3,210-3,315 and M-grade 3,286-3,595. Naka delivery rates (in ₹): S-grade 3,230-3,370 and M-grade 3,270-3,460.
