Sugar prices at the Vashi market ruled mixed with ₹3-5 a quintal higher/lower as per quality. Naka rates down by ₹10-20. Mill tender prices were unchanged on higher demand. Maharashtra’s mills sold about 75,000-80,000 bags to local traders previous day evening on back of higher bulk demand for Diwali festival. Arrivals were about 60-61 truck loads and local dispatches were at 62-63 truck loads. Freight rates and market stocks were steady. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates:S-grade ₹3,582-3,762 (3,582-3,760) and M-grade ₹3,686-3,902 (3,662-3,902). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,550-3,620 (3,560-3,640) and M-grade ₹3,610-3,720 (3,630-3,730).
