The pepper markets continued to fall on Tuesday on poor quality coupled with increased arrivals. Below 500 GL pepper traded at ₹550 a kg and 500-510 GL at ₹575-₹585 a kg. And, 545-550 GL fetched ₹605-610 a kg. On the terminal market 31 tonnes were traded over the day. Spot prices fell by ₹500 a quintal to close at ₹60,900 (ungarbled) and ₹63,900 (garbled) a quintal. February and March contracts on the IPSTA were steady at ₹64,000 and ₹63,000 a quintal. Indian export prices were at $9,750 a tonne cf for Europe and $10,000 a tonne cf for USA.
