Pepper growers started releasing their produce following reports that there is going be an extra availability of around 60,000 tonnes in 2017. On the terminal market, 27 tonnes were traded at ₹565-605 a kg. Spot prices fell further by ₹600 a quintal to ₹58,500 (ungarbled) and ₹61,500 (garbled). February contract on the IPSTA matured today at ₹61,000 a quintal. Export prices were at $9,400 a tonne c&f for Europe and $9,650 for the US.
