Kapas or raw cotton price was moved up on the back of improved ginning demand and shortage of good quality product. On the other hand, cotton was traded flat on limited buying. Traders said that demand from ginners was good to create stock. Moreover, short supply with lower availability of quality product also supported the kapas price to move up. Kapas gained ₹5-10 to ₹900-925 for a maund of 20 kg and gin delivery kapas stood at ₹930-950. Gujarat Sankar-6 variety remained unchanged at ₹34,500-35,000 per candy of 356 kg. About 8,000 bales (of 170 kg) arrived in Gujarat and 17,000 bales arrived in India.
