Sugar price at the higher side improved by ₹5-10 a quintal and remained steady at the lower side on the Vashi market on back of routine activities. With start of new month retail offtake improved but at mill level the volume remained normal on selling pressure. Naka rates were up ₹10-20 and mill tender prices were unchanged. Arrivals were at 62-63 truck loads and local dispatches were 61-62 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,602-2,722 and M-grade ₹2,702-2,912. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,550-2,650 and M-grade ₹2,650-2,800.
