With not much trading in the market, prices of aromatic and non-basmati rice were quoted with marginal alterations on Monday.

Bulk buyers are keeping themselves out of the market and retailers are also not showing any interest in bulk buying, said Mr Tara Chand Sharma, a rice trader. Prices of aromatic and non-basmati rice dropped marginally as traders are not getting much orders from overseas and domestic market, he added.

After witnessing an uptrend last weekend, prices of Pusa 1121 rice (steam) dropped marginally by Rs 25 and ruled at Rs 5,100-5,275 a quintal, Pusa-1121(sela) dropped by Rs 20 and was quoted at Rs 4,125-4,300, and Pusa-1121(raw) was at Rs 5,040-5,130. Prices of duplicate basmati managed to maintain their upper levels and ruled at Rs 3,700-4,000 a quintal.

Brokens such as Tibar was quoted at Rs 3,000-3,350, Dubar at Rs 2,350-2,580 and Mongra was at Rs 1,800-2,120.

Prices of Sharbati variety dropped by Rs 10-30, Sharbati (steam) was quoted at Rs 3,000-3,070 while the Sharbati (Raw) was at Rs 2,800-2,890 a quintal.

PR-11 (sela) ruled at Rs 2,000-2,045 and PR-11(Raw) was at Rs 2,000-2,140 a quintal. Permal (sela) was quoted at Rs 1,650-1,900 a quintal while Permal (Raw) traded at Rs 1,800-1,880 a quintal. For the brokens of Sharbati variety, Tibar was quoted at Rs 2,350, Dubar was at 2,130 and Mongra was at Rs 1,450.
