Amid a weak trend in the global markets, silver prices moved down by Rs 251 to Rs 61,124 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators offloaded positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December moved down by Rs 251 or 0.41 per cent to Rs 61,124 per kg with a business turnover of 4,703 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 241 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 62,970 per kg with a business turnover of 533 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by a weak global trend, mainly kept pressure on silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, the white metal declined 0.4 per cent to $32.55 an ounce in Singapore.
