Spot pepper prices moved up to ₹500 a kg after a continuous decline over several days. Trade sources said that no sellers were forthcoming and hence no trading activities have taken place. However, 20 tonnes of imported pepper were traded at Pulpally and Bathery in Wayanad at ₹490 a kg today, they told BusinessLine .
Spot prices moved up by ₹100 a quintal to close at ₹48,000 (ungarbled) and ₹50,000 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $8,100 a tonne c&f for Europe and $8,350 for the United States.
