Sugar prices on the Vashi market extended gains by ₹10-20 a quintal for S-grade and remained unchanged for M-grade. Naka and mill tender rates were also steady. Sufficient stocks and supply from producers kept activities limited to local demand. Currently arrivals and local dispatches remained at par. Producers are also not very keen to sell at lower prices as surplus burden on them has been eased drastically now. Arrivals continued to be at 62-63 truck loads while local dispatches were 61-62 loads. On Thursday evening, 13-14 mills offered tenders and sold 54,000-55,000 bags at ₹2,420-2,480 (2,420-2,480) for S-grade and ₹2,490-2,580 (2,490-2,580) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,486-2,621 (2,462-2,611) and M-grade ₹2,572-2,692 (2,572-2,692). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,450-2,530 (2,450-2,530) and M-grade ₹2,530-2,640 (2,530-2,640).
