Sugar prices continued their bearish trend on slack demand amid continuous selling by mills. At Vashi prices declined by ₹30-40 a quintal for old fair quality stocks. Ample supplies kept stockists away from bulk buys. Arrivals to the Vashi market were steady at 60-61 truck loads and local dispatches were at 59-60 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: (in ₹) S-grade 3,506-3,571 and M-grade 3,610-3,791. Naka delivery rates: (in ₹) S-grade 3,430-3,560 and M-grade 3,510-3,660.
