Sugar market ruled stable on Monday on normal activities. Stockists sold the fine - fair quality at ₹5-10 per quintal higher - lower on month end slack demand amid higher selling pressure. Naka and mill tender rates were steady with routine volumes. Enough stocks in the hands of stockists and supply from producers kept under current of the market calm and cool. Freight rates were also steady, said sources.
Arrivals at Vashi market were 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches were at 57-58 truck loads. On Saturday evening 14-16 mills offer tenders and sold about 35,000 bags at ₹3,490-3,560 (₹3,490-3,560) for S-grade and₹3,580-3,650 ( ₹3,580 – 3,650) for M-grade. On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were:(in ₹)S-grade 3,636- 3,720 (3,636 – 3,715) and M-grade 3,720 – 3,890 (3,740 – 3,912).
Naka delivery rates were:(in ₹) S-grade 3,590 – 3,670 (3,590 – 3,670) and M-grade 3,690 – 3,770 ( 3,690 –3,770).
