Sugar prices shot up by ₹20-30 at Vashi on Monday on the back of firm mill tender rates amid an increase in bulk and retail demand. On Saturday 12-14 mills sold 48,000-50,000 bags at ₹3,120-3,160 a quintal of S-grade and ₹3130-3,170 of M-grade. Bombay Sugar Merchants Association spot rates: S-grade ₹3,242-3,262 and M-grade ₹3,256-3,400. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,195-3,205 and M-grade ₹3,235-3,260.
