Sugar prices continued to slide on sufficient supply amid limited demand. Prices at the Vashi market further weakened by ₹30 a quintal. Naka and mill tender rates were down by ₹10-20 as selling pressure increased due to pick-up in new crushing. Freight rates were steady. Arrivals at Vashi market were steady at 60-62 truck loads and local dispatches were at 59-60 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: (in ₹) S-grade 3,410- 3,582 and M-grade 3,510-3,765. Naka delivery rates: (in ₹) S-grade 3,400-3,500 and M-grade 3,470-3,600.
