Sugar prices ruled steady on Monday on eased demand amid lifting pressure on stockists for due contracts. With routine demand, supply and volume, the morale remained steady.
Arrivals at the Vashi wholesale market were at 38-40 truck loads (of 10 tonnes each) and local dispatches were at 40-41 loads. Inventories increased to about 84-85 truck loads. Freight rates were steady at ₹85-100 per bag.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association spot rates (₹/quintal): S-grade 3,272-3,342 and M-grade 3,370-3,550. Naka delivery rates(₹/quintal): S-grade 3,220-3,290 and M-grade 3,320-3,400.
