Continued upsurge in arrivals pulled down pepper prices on Wednesday. Both spot and futures prices fell further. On the terminal market, 51 tonnes were traded at ₹590-620 a kg.

Spot prices fell further by ₹400 a quintal to ₹60,500 (ungarbled) and ₹63,500 (garbled). February and March contracts on the IPSTA also lost ₹1,000 a quintal each to ₹63,000 and ₹62,000 respectively. Export prices were at $9,650 a tonne c&f for Europe and $9,900 for the US.
