The firmer trend in spot pepper continued on Wednesday on demand for good quality stuff, according to market sources. On the terminal market, 20 tonnes were traded.16 tonnes of imported stuff and 4 tonnes of high-range pepper were traded at ₹415 and Rs455 a kg respectively.
Spot prices moved up further by ₹100 a quintal to close at ₹43,200 (ungarbled) and ₹45,200 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $7,225 a tonne for Europe and $7,475 for the US.
