Sluggish trend in masur continuing for the past sometime ended today with supply outstripping demand. On Friday, new masur in local mandis gained ₹100 to ₹4,500 a quintal on weak arrival, while masur (Madhya Pradesh) gained ₹200 at ₹4,200. Given further rise in arrival of new crop and pressure of imported crop, rally in masur appears unlikely, said Prakash Vora, a local wholesaler.
Masur dal (medium) was being quoted at ₹5,450-5,550 (down ₹200 from last week), while masur dal (bold) ruled at ₹5,550-5,650 (down ₹250-300). Moong (bold) today declined to ₹6,200-6,500 (down ₹500-600) and moong (medium) declined to ₹6,000 (down ₹500). Urad ruled stable on sluggish and subdued demand with urad (bold) at ₹9,500, while urad (medium) ruled at ₹8,500-8,600 (down ₹600).
