Gold futures on MCX opened lower at Rs 31,155 per 10 grams on Monday against the previous close of Rs 31,201. It was quoted at Rs 31,095 at 1 p.m.
In Comex, the yellow metal had lost nearly $5 at $1,769 a troy ounce at 12:55 p.m.
Gold futures on MCX may continue to trade weak as the rupee is expected to gain strength against dollar. The fall in gold prices in the international markets will also weigh heavily on gold in India.
