Silver prices were up by 0.11 per cent at Rs 42,075 per kg at the futures trade today as traders increased their bets amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month May moved up by Rs 46 or 0.11 per cent at Rs 42,075 per kg in a business turnover of 8 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March contracts traded higher by Rs 33 or 0.08 per cent at Rs 41,465 per kg in 238 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at the futures trade to a firm trend in the precious metals overseas as the dollar slipped, raising demand for a safe-haven.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.15 per cent to $17.15 an ounce in Singapore.
