Shares of state-run oil refiners rose due to hike in petrol prices.
Bharat Petroleum Corp gained as much as 1 per cent, Hindustan Petroleum Corp rose as much as 1.1 per cent, and Indian Oil Corp climbed as much as 0.8 per cent.
Petrol prices in Delhi were raised to Rs 66.05/litre from Rs 64.72/litre, while diesel prices in the capital were hiked to Rs 55.26/litre from Rs 52.61/litre earlier, IOC had said in a statement on Saturday.
