Sesa Sterlite was the top gainer on the BSE on Tuesday morning. At 10.35 am it led the pack on the bourse, quoting at Rs 203.70. This represented a gain of 2.77 per cent on its previous close at Rs 198.20.
Reliance Industries rode up 2.06 per cent to trade at Rs 926.60. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 907.90.
ONGC flared up 2.03 per cent at Rs 357.10. It had closed yesterday’s session at Rs 350.
Tata Motors rallied further to hold gains of 1.74 per cent at Rs 602.60. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 592.30.
Hindustan Unilever was trading at Rs 923.75 as against Rs 908.25 at close on Monday. This represented a gain of 1.71 per cent.
With the RBI keeping the repo rate unchanged at 7.75 per cent both the Sensex and the Nifty slipped into the red. The former was trading at 29,118.71, while the Nifty was trading at 8,793.90.
