Corporation Bank has appointed sprinter, Ms Ashwini A.C., as its brand ambassador.
A bank release said here Ms Ashwini, who has been appointed as manager in the bank, was launched as its brand ambassador by the Kannada cine artist Tara, in Bangalore earlier this week to mark the International Women's Day.
Mr Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Narendra Singh and Mr Ashwani Kumar, Executive Directors, were present on the occasion.
Medal winner
Ms Ashwini, who hails from Siddapura in Kundapura taluk of Udupi district, is a specialist in the 400 metres race.
She won gold medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2010 Asian Games in the 4x400 metres relay team event and the individual gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles at the 2010 Asian Games.
Announcing Ms Ashwini as the brand ambassador, Mr Pradeep said Corporation Bank represents a time-tested banking ethos and commitment towards the highest quality of service to its customers and firmly believes in innovation, change and excellence in performance.
And these very same qualities are epitomised by Ms Ashwini whose quality and dedication to work has made her a top-class sprint athlete of the country, the release added.
