The rupee gained 13 paise to Rs 45.55 against the US dollar in the early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on Monday, supported by a higher opening in the stock market and weakness of the greenback against other Asian currencies.
The domestic unit had gained 4 paise against the US dollar to close at Rs 45.68/69 in the previous session on Friday.
Dealers said in addition to dollar’s weakness against other Asian currencies overseas, a higher opening in the stock market supported the rupee sentiment today.
