India received 83,501 foreign tourists on Tourist Visa on Arrival enabled by Electronic Travel Authorisation (or E-Tourist Visa) in November 2015 against 2,968 in October 2014, registering a growth of 2713 per cent, a statement from the Ministry of Tourism said.
Among the countries availing the facility last month, the UK (23.93 per cent) led the pack followed by the US (16.33 per cent), Russian Federation (8.17 per cent), France (7.64 per cent) and Germany (5.60 per cent).
E-Tourist Visa scheme was launched in November last year. At present, this facility is available for citizens of 113 countries arriving at 16 airports in India.
