FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the women’s wing of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), has launched Wellness for Women (WOW), a mobile app, in tie-up with Apollo Hospitals.

The member only application powered by ‘Ask Apollo’, is a web and mobile enabled patient centric service that will offer daily health tips, health records of patients, doctor appointments, order wellness products and medicines online.

This app is for busy women who have no time to care about their health and fitness, said Pinky Reddy, National President, FLO.

An exhibition titled ‘Chola Collection’, to showcase traditional South Indian textiles, artistry, jewellery and heritage was held to commemorate the silver jubilee celebration of FLO Chennai chapter. FLO is providing services to women empowerment such as legal awareness programme, health and safety awareness and mentoring women entrepreneurship through ‘Swayam’ programme, said Anupama Shivaraman, Chairperson, FLO Chennai chapter.

“Through this stall and campaign, FLO is putting us directly in touch with right set of customers for our products,” said AN Kiran, an entrepreneur, who runs an embroidery art business, Thamarai, with two other women, Sangeet and Yoga. The company offers wall art and interior decoration through through customised embroidery made by village artesans.

“FLO is helping me to upscale my business through this outlet, social media promotion and by providing right contacts,” said Subashini Raja, a mentee under Swayam programme, who owns Baby’s Breath, a home-based business.
