Debt-ridden Reliance Communications will hold a meeting with its $300-million bondholders in London to seek approval for an asset monetisation proposal. The Anil Ambani company plans to make partial redemption of bonds at face value. The bonds, maturing in 2020, were issued in May 2015 at 6.5 per cent interest.

The much awaited Samsung flagships Galaxy S9 and S9+ will launch in India today. The smartphones were unveiled at the MWC in Barcelona last month. The Galaxy S9 phones will go on sale on March 16.

NPP's Conrad Sangma will be sworn in as Chief Minister of Meghalaya today. The NPP will form a non-Congress government with the support of three regional parties, the BJP and one Independent MLA. The ruling Congress, which emerged the single largest party winning 21 seats in the Assembly elections, could not stitch a post-poll alliance with the regional parties to retain power in the State.

An eight-day mega naval exercise, hosted by the Indian Navy under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, will kick off today. The exercise, which will see participation from 15 navies including Australia, Malaysia and Mauritius, aims to expand regional cooperation and combat unlawful activities in critical sea lanes. The biennial exercise 'Milan' was first held in 1995 with the participation of just five navies.

The month-long Budget session of the Himachal Assembly will start today. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will present his first state budget on March 9. The session, which culminates on April 5, will have 17 sittings, including two private members’ days on March 8 and March 30.
