Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the 10th bidding round for city gas distribution projects in New Delhi. Under this round, 50 geographical areas spread over 124 districts in 14 States will be offered. At the same event, the Prime Minister will also remotely lay the foundation stone for city gas distribution projects in 65 geographical areas allotted under the 9th bidding round. 

The State Bank of India will hold an e-auction of 11 NPA accounts to recover over Rs 1,000 crore dues. Of the eleven, Janki Corp owes the highest amount, at about Rs 590 crore. SBI's gross NPAs rose to 10.69 per cent of its total advances at the end of the first quarter of this fiscal. 

Chief of Army Staff Gen Bipin Rawat will begin a four-day visit to Vietnam. Gen Rawat will hold talks with the top brass of the military establishment of Vietnam, including Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.  He will also visit a number of key military formations and establishments in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. Defence cooperation between the two countries has increased considerably over the last few years.

Nissan’s board of directors is set to meet on Thursday in the aftermath of Carlos Ghosn's arrest.  The board is expected to approve a proposal to dismiss both Ghosn as its chairman and another executive, representative director Greg Kelly, who is alleged to have collaborated with his boss in falsifying financial reports. Earlier this year, Ghosn signed a contract that would have run through 2022. Renault has appointed its COO and a senior board member to fill in for embattled boss Carlos Ghosn but has refrained from firing Ghosn while awaiting more detail on the allegations.

Karnataka will launch a loan scheme for small vendors and hawkers. The Badavara Bandu  scheme provides interest-free and collateral-free loans. District cooperative banks in each district have been assigned the task of providing loans.
