Karnataka's Department of Tourism has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for a suspension bridge over the Ganesh Falls that will connect Sirsi, Siddapur and Yellapur Assembly constituencies in Uttara Kannada.

While the spot already attracts a large number of tourists, the bridge promises to ensure Ganesh Falls becomes a popular tourist destination for nature tourism in Uttara Kannada district.

The local administration thanked KPCC General Secretary and former Chairman of the Coastal Development Authority, Nivedith Alva, for obtaining administrative approval and prevailing upon the Karnataka government to sanction the construction of the hanging bridge, which will provide a link to Sirsi and Yellapur taluks.

Alva, who visited Jaddigadde village of Sirsi taluk recently and personally inspected the famous tourist attraction of Ganesh Falls in Sonagimane village, which comes under the Kodnagadde grama panchayat, was apprised of the need for the bridge by the local people.
