A reception committee headed by Kochi Corporation Mayor Tony Chammany will be formed soon for the smooth conduct of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale slated to begin on December 12.
The decision was taken at a meeting here in the presence of Union Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution, K.V. Thomas.
The meeting was also attended by MLAs Dominic Presentation, Hibi Eden and Ludi Luis, and Lalitha Kala Akademi Chairperson K.A. Francis, among others.
Later, a delegation led by Chammany met Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and sought the State Government’s support for the smooth functioning of the three-month-long Biennale.
The Better Kochi Response Group, a team representing the umbrella body of the city’s trade and commerce chambers and socially-active professionals, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister seeking the government’s support for the Biennale.
