Odisha possesses over 1,21,000 acres of untapped land for industrial development. Its wage rate compares with other parts of the country. It is also working to improve people skills.

Giving this information at an investors’ meet in Hyderabad on Thursday, the State’s Industry Secretary, Sanjeev Chopra, told newspersons: “Odisha is resource-rich and making rapid strides in port-based manufacturing. Apart from that, we have successfully lowered the average project approval time to about 20 days. In fact, if it's a green category project, we approve it the same day.”

A delegation led by Chopra met with 24 Hyderabad-based companies and apprised them of government policies and the concessions on offer.

Companies like Vedanta, Jindal Steel and Power, and Tata Steel have already invested in the the largest bauxite producing State accounting for more than half of India’s production.

Multiple Hyderabad-based companies have already invested in Odisha. The Odisha delegation invited companies from Hyderabad for the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 at Bhubaneswar from November 11-15.
