The ECGC (executive committee - governing council) meeting of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) is to be held here on Friday.

At a media conference here on Thursday, on the eve of the national conference, Chairman of CREDAI (AP), K. Subba Raju said the ECGC meeting of the CREDAI would be held every quarter in an important city, and Visakhapatnam had been chosen this time as it was the most important industrial city of Andhra Pradesh.

"It is a mater of great pride for us that Vizag has been chosen this time and it gives us an opportunity to showcase the city, as all the major builders from different parts of the country would assemble here. The policy decisions of the Government and major issues relating to the realty sector would be discussed," he said.

Siva Reddy, national vice-president of the CREDAI, said delegates from 220 chapters of CREDAI from 23 states would attend the meet. "We have 12,000 members in these chapters and we are governed by a code of self-regulation. Providing quality homes to people at affordable rates is our main objective," he said and added that there would be a technical session on affordable housing at the meet.

He spoke at length about the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of CREDAI in Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam district and city. G.V.V.S Narayana, chairman of the Visakhapatnam chapter, also spoke.
