The much awaited literary festival, the Tata Literature Live! – The Mumbai LitFest 2013 is here. Over the next four days, over 120 stalwarts and enthusiasts are to converge at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) to savour Mumbai’s most awaited literary festival.
Author of the Shiva Trilogy Amish Tripathi, Festival Director Anil Dharker, Chief Ethics Officer of Tata Sons Mukund Rajan, and Chairman of NCPA Khushroo Suntook unveiled a brochure, heralding the start of the four day long literary extravaganza.
The shortlist for the Tata Literature Live! First Book Award, an award instituted to honour promising talent in the field of literature, was also announced. This year, the award will be given for two categories: fiction and non-fiction.
In the fiction category, the shortlisted authors are Chetan Raj Shrestha, a 34-year-old architect from Sikkim, Gangtok, for his book, ‘The King’s Harvest’; Shovan Chowdhury, a Delhi-based amateur humorist, for ‘The Competent Authority’, and ex-journalist Srikumar Sen for ‘The Skinning Tree’.
Veteran author Mark Tully, social commentator Santosh Desai, Landmark COO Ashutosh Pandey and festival director Anil Dharker are to be the jury for the award.
