A survey comparing the buying behaviour of rural and urban insurance customers by Dhimen Jani and Dr Rajeev Jain in Abhinav journal revealed that city-dwellers choose the insurance route for financial stability, while village folk see it as part of their retirement planning. However, both show a preference for policies from government agencies over private ones.
