Sajid Khan, Country Manager, India, South African Airways, is a veteran in the aviation industry with over 16 years of experience. Khan talks to BusinessLine about his favourite airport.
My favourite airport - Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport
What I like about it - The airport has an open design which gives a sense of space. There are rainbow coloured pillars that act as landmarks and help passengers move around without getting lost. The airport also has a beautiful system to utilise natural light through windows that seem to follow the sun. The security system is efficient with facial recognition technology, which helps track criminals and keep a check on pickpocketing. The airport serves good coffee too, a must if you have time and want to read a book.
Others airports I like - Some of the restaurants and retail outlets at the T2 terminal at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport are better than their international peers. Besides, not many airports boast of a museum. I also like Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
